Objective: Practice making dual tessellations. Look for duality in Escher's work.
- Describe the dual platonic solids that appear in Escher's:
- Crystal (Magic of M.C. Escher #170)
- Double Planetoid (Magic of M.C. Escher # 153)
- Four Regular Solids (Stereometric Figure) (Magic of M.C. Escher #161)
- The regular tessellation of the plane by squares is self-dual. Explain.
- Draw the dual tessellation right on top of the tessellations shown:
Note that this one is a tessellation of a sphere.
