Hyperbolic Escher Exploration

Objective: Explore properties of Escher-like hyperbolic tessellations

Hyperbolic Escher is website maintained by Jos Leys. You will find many of Escher's tessellations adapted to the hyperbolic disk and upper-half space.

This exploration looks at some of the symmetries one may find in these hyperbolic tessellations.

1. On the handout, write down the highest degree rotation you can find in each of the tessellations.

2. Find the underlying geometric tessellation and record that for each of the tessellations.
