The reason for explaining what "exact divisor" means is that that phrase usually denotes an integer--which is not what is meant here.

I've made a lot of changes to this exploration, though it's mostly in the wording. I tried to give a little more in the way of direct instructions to do stuff. I changed the objective wording. I cut it into two parts (because I plan to stop and talk after they finish part I). I put the math into math mode. I took out wording involving "we". I turned the table on its side, replaced the images with svg. I also dropped the time from 45min to 35min. That one is just optimism - I've never used this exploration before. I just know that if it really is 45 minutes long, the students will be upset when I give it to them with 30 minutes left in class :-) Please compare the changes from the previous version to my first edit, and see if you like/agree with them. All changes after the first big one are minor stuff with formatting.

Oh, and I changed "exact divisor" to "divides evenly into", and hopefully Steve will agree that that no longer needs extra explanation.

I'd like to suggest removing the printable version, as it will get out of sync with the online version when changes are made. The online version prints just fine, IMHO. Bryan (talk) 10:14, 5 October 2015 (CDT)

I'd like to consider removing step one, where the students cut up a triangle. I've usually done the equivalent thing already in Quadrilateral Tessellation Exploration and don't need them to do it again. Bryan (talk) 11:31, 5 October 2015 (CDT)
